Raelous hung suspended from a simple bar, held in place by the grip of his hands as he alternately raised and lowered himself in a slow steady rythm. He was clothed only in a pair of shorts, the better to control his body's temperature. His sun bronzed skin was covered in a fine sheen of perspiration, that evaporated quickly in the dry air of the -c-
Raelous temple, highlighting the shifting interplay of muscle as he drew himself upward on the bar with a slow four count then lowered himself at the same pace. He did not keep a count, merely repeated the action until he could feel the burning of the muscle that told himhe was keeping the fibers strong. He released the bar and dropped the -c-
Raelous : half meter to the floor, before he moved aside and began doing push-ups. These he did with his hands on a set of simple arched stands with rollers in their base. As he lowered himself, the rollers moved outward, increasing the tension on the muscles of his arms, shoulders and chest. These also he did not bother to keep a count of, simply -c-
Raelous working untile he felt the burn settle deep in the muscles.
Raelous This slow careful technique, had built on his slender frame a solid musculature that was strong, but not bulky. He was focused upon function rather than aesthetics. He had been told that he had developed a fine form, a compliment he accepted humbly, for he was not overtly vain, though he did take pleasure in the accomplishment. He was -c-
Raelous most pleased however with the improvement in his performance. Crunches followed the push-ups, following the same slow cadenced technique. He bore little body fat to conceal the bunching of the muscles on his abdomen, eight distinct groupings, that bunched into ridged mounds as he lifted only his shoulders from the floorand held for -c-
Raelous a count of four before he relaxed back. When the muscles of his abdomen began to burn with the exertion he stopped and got to his feet. He padded across the small space of his quarters and entered the fresher, where he showered off the sweat of his exercise, then emerged to dress. The clothing he wore was simple and servicable, -c-
Raelous white shirt and pants of a natural cream color, topped by a tunic of the same cream hue. Supple brown boots of synthetic hide and a matching belt that held the tunic closed. The belt held several small pouches and a single lightsaber, whose simple functional elegance reflected the personality of the young man that bore it. His quarters were -c-
Raelous sparse in decoration, a small wall hanging made from strands of cordage woven in a simple repeating pattern that incorporated small pieces of metal, stone and glass. No other decoration softened the spartan decor of the cell. He left the cell and emerged into the hallway, down which he strode at a brisk purposeful pace. -d-
Whisper had been spending a lot of time at the temple's gardens now a days, the young diplomat was quite enthralled with how close she felt to being back home on naboo with the way the flowers gleamed in the starlight. She was there tonight, dressed in one of her almost medieval looking white gowns. Off the shoulders so her freckles were in plain >
Whisper sight. Her soft brown eyes scanned the area, a complete innocent look upon her childlike features as she moved, two tall guards behind her, and a Padawan the temple had assigned to escort her around. As the night grew colder, she ran her hands over her arms, folding them as she decided to visit inside for a while. Her brown hair was accented >
Whisper tonight by a crown of silver and white flowers, and some beautiful spring green ivy. She had made it over the course of the day. Slipping to the inside, she kicked her white slip on shoes off, bare feet touching the cool marble floor as she scanned the area. The padawan was leading her towards the mess hall where the Jedi had their meals. She>
Whisper was in need of some hot soup. Along the way they would come across the other Jedi, her eyes smiling at him as she crossed his path. "Good evening, Padawan.." She said, noting his rank carefully, as she had often times called them by the wrong ranking. She was a non force user, and her father had forbidden talk of the Force after her sensitive >
Whisper sister ran away to become a Dark Jedi, or so they said, no one really knew where Wander was...
Raelous seemed outwardly a most serious padawan, but that serious expression cracked as the young woman greeted him. The smile that curled his lips was a bit on the boyish side as he inclined his head politely. When he spoke, his voice was a quiet and calm baritone that promised to deepen further as he aged. "Good evening , your majesty" he replied -c-
Raelous with warm rather than stiff cordiality. There might have been a spark of mischief in those brown eyes, a subtle glimpse of the wry wit, hidden beneath the decorum of the Jedi. He himself was on the way to the messhall, so their courses drew to a parallel down the broad hallway. "I trust this evening finds you well?" he inquired politely as -c-
Raelous he matched the length and cadence of his strides to her own, folding his hands at the small of his back, so they wouldn't fidgit. -d-
Whisper : Raelous is here to help while the other admin is away]]
Whisper would smile brighter, he had a hint of boyish charm about him that made her feel a little more at ease in the temple. She took a moment to push a stray piece of brown hair away from her eyes before speaking to him softly. "It does, I was just enjoying the beautiful gardens outside. It got a little too cold for my taste though, so I'm here to>
Whisper get some soup." She said, falling in step beside him, her head canting so that she could look to him. "Its a pleasure to meet you, sir. I'm afraid I have yet to catch your name. I am Whisper Triemer." She nodded to him, she'd have offered him her hand if her guards would not have a complete panic attack from the mere thought of it.
Raelous nodded as she spoke of the evening's chill, "I do beg your pardon, my name is Raelous Falcoon." He said as she introduced herself, "It does get rather chilly in the gardens at night, it is the altitude and lack of humidity. The gardens have heaters, but they serve to protect the plants from frost, rather than provide comfort." He stopped -c-
Raelous himself from going into a lengthy monologue on how this served to harden one against extremes of temperature, she was a diplomat, and while the subject might have interested her, it would have been boorish to assume such things. "I myself am on my way to dine, perhaps we might do so together?" His manner showed polite interest, there might -c-
Raelous have been something more there, but it was strictly supressed. She was quite beautiful after all, and he was a living, breathing, intact human male in the latter stages of adolescence. For him to have no reaction at all to her femininity would not have been natural. -d-
Whisper knew the Jedi well enough to refrain herself from being too much of a flirt, she would feel horridly guilty if she were to cause the poor Padawan any trouble... but she too was young, and female, and she had to admit that he was handsome... there was some draw to him. She nodded, "Nice to meet you, Raelous, it is fortunate we met. I was >
Whisper worried I might dine alone tonight, and a talkative girl like me could not stand for that." She said, holding the back of her hand to the side of her mouth, as if telling a secret. "And those two never talk, they're not supposed to or some silly crap." She was certainly not very formal or a queen, or senator, but she was in the company of what>
Whisper felt like a friend, so cutting loose was no big issue to her. Once inside she grabbed a tray, stomach rumbling.
Raelous could not help but laugh, a free and genuine laugh that could be contagious at times. "I can understand your dilemna, I have read, that one reason behind their silence is logical, if not wholly comprehensible. If they do not become familiar, the one they guard is less likely to risk their life to save that of a guard doing their duty." He -c-
Raelous offered in reply, his smile still evident, "I am certain it is no disparagement on your personality, merely a part of their calling." He continued as he took up a tray himself. He was hungry but not to the stomach rumble stage, he tended to eat several small meals throughout the day when possible as it was a more efficient method to maintain -c-
Raelous the condition of the body. "Then again, you may have some of the older models...I've heard the new ones can even smile..." He offered with a wink to the guards, there was no malice in either tone or manner, just a gentle jest. -d-
Whisper would giggle at him, he was charming her right away. "Smile? By the light I would never expect such an... upgrade!" She teased, her guards coughing, perhaps even flushing a little as they paused at the door with a signal. She would rather them stay away so she could feel normal, besides, he was a Jedi. Jedi are good people. She took a >
Whisper container of soup and set it on her tray..with several other things. For one so petite she could truly eat her weight in one sitting, ask her guards..well, ask if they would answer. "Mm, this smells wonderful." She said as she scurried to a table nd sat her tray down, waiting on him to join her. Her brown eyes were filled with a child like >
Whisper gleam again, because food...was her passion.
Raelous could be quite the trencherman himself when he had missed meals, but most of the time he kept his appetite in check. He chose soup and other comestibles that were high in bulk and protein, but easy on the fat, and he took none of the sweets other than fresh fruit. "Yes it does, we have some fine cooks, the fare is not fancy, but it is very -c-
Raelous good... I know one in particular thinks that I am far too skinny..." he said with a chuckle as he joined her. "Her name is Dewlanna, a wookie, she makes the best desserts, but I seldom indulge myself." He confided as he seated himself. -d-
Whisper laughed gently as he sat down, instantly digging into the soupy goodness, eyes rolling back in delight at the first bite. It was a veggie based soup, with chunks of warm meat in it. Filling. She also had some rice on the side and some strawberries. "I know how that can be, well, actually I indulge any time I see sweets..." She admitted freely.>
Whisper A smile touched her again as she looked him over, "You look...healthy to me. Strong and well trained." She complimented him. "I...am a twig." She snickered. "Training has never been a thought for me, as queen, I'm supposed to 'sit and be pampered'." Her face contorted into a disgusted look, her freckled nose scrunching up. "Have you lived here>
Whisper your whole life?"
Raelous laughed gently, "Thank you, it helps to be fit, and I am sure your guards would not be adverse to you improving your overall fitness. Truly it is not difficult to do, some simple exercises and brisk walking or even running. It helps not only the body, but the mind as well, when your body is fit, it can better support the mind, allowing -c-
Raelous for clearer and quicker thinking." He said as he dug into his salad of mixed greens and vegetables. "Yes, I have nevwer lived anywhere other than the Temple that I can remember...I don't know the names of my parents, only that I was born here on Coruscant." His manner of answer indicated a curiosity toward the identity of his parents, but -c-
Raelous little more than that. "It has not been hard, I know that we have a rather austere life in some ways, but in many ways we are better off than children elsewhere in the galaxy." -d-
Whisper listened to him speaking of fitness and couldn't help but smile, chewing thoughtfully before speaking. "I see, well, I'll be on this planet awhile longer... perhaps you could teach me some exercises before I go back to naboo?" She asked him with a gentle tone, not wanting to impose. "I knew my parents well, I find it strange for you not to >
Whisper know yours...I suppose its culture shock, really. I guess I'm not used to Jedi ways..." She twirled a curl of hair around one of her dainty fingers, popping a berry into her mouth and chewing it. After swallowing again she continued, "It must be amazing to use the Force...and even more so to use it to help others." She looked to his eyes again.
Raelous : smiled and swallowed a bite of food, before he spoke. "That would be no problem, they are exercises I use myself and require no special arrangements other than a solidly mounted bar for pullups. There are also stretching exercises that are very beneficial and also serve to build strength and balance." He said with a wry smile, "That will -c-
Raelous pass with time and knowledge. We are taught to keep an open mind, where cultures are concerned, to enter without preconcieved ideas, and learn through observation rather than rumor." He took a slow sip of his drink, before he continued. "Being able to sense the force, is....overwhelming at times, but that diminishes as we learn to understand -c-
Raelous what we sense and filter out 'the noise' I guess you could call it...every living thing contributes to the flow of the force, and it creates eddies and currents which take teaching and experience to interpret. Being able to help others because of it, is indeed a great thing." -d-
Whisper would stay quiet and listen to him as he explained things to her, taking a few more bites during the process and considering going back for seconds... but all of the talk of exercising made her feel a bit too guilty to do so. She giggled lightly and smiled, "Perhaps after we finish eating dinner you could teach me?" She asked, perking up >
Whisper slightly. "Heh, as a queen it is almost second nature to keep an open mind, I do not judge, but I suppose until I understand something fully it will forever confuse me." She continued, setting her fork down in the now empty bowl of soup. She listened to him speaking of the force with fascination, "My older sister was force sensitive." She >
Whisper explained, "She used to put on 'magic' shows when we were children..." She seemed to grow sad...
Raelous listened to her, and as she spoke of her sister his expression shifted, as if his focus became more intense as the evoked memories brought saddness to her. He had felt somewhat similar emotions before...but this was different in flavor that those occasioned by a death...yet there still seemed a sense of loss there that he could not pin down -c-
Raelous further, and lacked the experience to deduce clearly..."What happened...if you don't mind my asking." He said in a gentle tone meant to assure her he would not pry further if the subject were too painful to broach. Sometimes wounds of the heart needed time to heal, before their cause could be faced squarely. -d-
Whisper would sigh sadly, she knew he was going to ask, and in a way... she wanted to tell him. It had been now only four years, but she had bottled everything in. "My sister was a beautiful...is, a beautiful woman. But she has such low self esteem that she relies on men to make her feel better about herself. She met one... a liar, abuser, we all knew>
Whisper it... a Dark Jedi. He seduced her into running away with him and joining the dark side." She muttered, chewing at her lower lip. "Its like something out of a bad story... he uses her influence... and her body, and then throws her away when she's not needed. She crawls back every time, or so we hear. She won't contact the family, my parents >
Whisper died of grief....oh, I'm...I'm so sorry. I don't mean to trouble you." She looked down.
Raelous reached over and touched her hand, ever so lightly, with only his fingertip, "It is alright, that is what friends do...we listen when we need to...There is a law governing pain and joy, just as there is with matter and energy, neither can be destroyed, they can only be changed from one to the other...this is why shared pain is lessened and -c-
Raelous shared joy is increased." His smile was warm and gentle, and his eyes held not pity, but compassion. "Sometimes it helps to speak of our pain...rather like taking out a splinter, it hurts in the moment of doing it, but feels ever so much better afterward." -d-
Whisper smiled at him slightly as he touched her hand, her head tilted lightly. He was kind, and finding kind people in a universe of so much crime, hate, and pain was such a rare thing. "I've just never had anyone to tell about it." She shrugged a bit, drying her eyes on a napkin. She hadn't started sobbing, but she was wearing the Naboo face paint >
Whisper that showed her rank, and any tearing would have her looking like a deranged panda in no time.
Raelous withdrew his hand and smiled warmly, "Now about that exercise...I'm afraid your makeup will be ruined...it can be quite strenuous at first, and I know without a doubt that female humans do sweat..." He said this with a mischievious grin. "In fact I have seen Master Ha'athor soaked with it often when we spar...not sure if it was -c-
Raelous exhertion or annoyance..." He said the last with an innocent expression that was patently false. -d-
Whisper snickered a little and shook her head, "You are right, we do sweat, but I find that human men often sweat more when we're around." She stuck her tongue out band slowly got to her feet, picking the tray up and carrying it to the trash bin, tossing it out. She turned to him a moment and kept her smirk, "Tell me then, where are the restrooms so I>
Whisper may wash my face paint off..."
Raelous rose with her chuckling, "touche' , There is a fresher just out the door and to the right, second door on the right." He replied as he took his tray and got rid of what little he hadn't finished. "I'll be waiting in the hall." He offered, yes it was true...females did make males sweat more heavily...a natural reaction according to the -c-
Raelous lessons on biology he'd had...pheremones, hormones...lead to other moans...he shook that thought out of his head. -d-
Whisper would nod to him as she sauntered in the direction he had told her of, humming softly, a merry little tune as she passed her guards who, no joke, turned on heal at the SAME time and marched along behind her. She took a moment after cleaning her face to examine her features in the mirror, the make up had hidden her blushing before. As said >
Whisper it was natural for humans to be attracted to each other, but keeping those feelings in check were best for her. She knew better. Strolling out she looked down the hall, and waved at him, smiling.
Raelous raised an eyebrow as she emerged..."Well, you do look human under the warpaint..." he said with a mischievious grin...she also looked a bit younger without the severity. "Come, I know an excellent place, where your guards can be certain I am doing nothing more dangerous than teaching you how to be fit and flexible." He said as he turned to -c-
Raelous lead the way with a gesture to indicate direction. -d-
Whisper snorted at him and rolled her eyes playfully, "What were you expecting, then? A Gungan? Wookie?" She nudged him playfully then folded her arms across her chest. She felt more like herself with out the mask, she looked so much more...well real. Real as in, not a queen, but an average woman. She motioned for her guards to halt before skipping to>
Whisper his side, "They need a break...besides, I'm in a Jedi temple, what's the worst that could happen?" She arched her own brow.
Raelous "Ummmm....you could be mobbed by sugar crazed younglings...bored to tears by a treatise on the ubiquity of dust....mentally scarred by seeing Master Yoda naked....need I go on?" he said with a mischievious grin. as he lead the way down the hall and into an arched opening that lead to a simple gymnasium. It had a section of padded floor, -c-
Raelous a rather intricate jungle gym that seemed to be supported by little more than good wishes as it swayed in the subtle air currents and a few other forms of exercise equipment that were more common. -d-
Whisper blinked a litle at some of the things he mentioned. "Well, perhaps I do need my guards. Younglings, AND a naked Master Yoda?" She shuttered a bit before looked around the gym, her eyes scanning everything over, finding nothing too threatening. She coughed, "Well then, Master exerciser Raelous...teach me, your...exercise Padawan?" She mused, >
Whisper lips pursed playfully at him.
Raelous smirked and bowed with a flourish that would have done any dancer proud. "At once your majesticness...first, we stretch, to warm up the muscles, it prevents injury." He said with a smile as he moved onto the mat, "I'll show you the simple stretches this time, and as you become more proficient, we can move on to the more advanced postures...-c-
Raelous the most important thing to remember, is to breathe." He said this with all seriousness, no quirky smile, or mischievious glint...he meant just that, oddly enough. "I will teach you that as well, it is easy to learn, but can take years to master fully." -d-
Whisper would nod to him and giggle at his bow, impressed by his gracefulness before making her way over to the mats with him, head tilted back as she looked up to him. "That sounds reasonable." She mused then cleared her throat, "How do we begin?" Her eyes searched him a moment, she was excited to learn this... she had sat around and been babied for >
Whisper far too long. She wanted a way to become a stronger, perhaps even more confident woman.
Raelous "At this moment, you breathe to exsist, we learn this by default, but there is more that can be learned..." he said as he slipped off his tunic, leaving behind the long sleeved white shirt beneath. that shirt hugged his form closely but did not bind, outlining his physique, which was leanly compact, but not at all bulky. "Each breath has -c-
Raelous three stages, the first you know, ocurring primarily in the upper lung, the second extends into the second lobe of the lungs..." he demonstrated, his chest expanding further than normal breathing, "The third fills the lungs fully, and can be the hardest to maintain with regularity" He demonstrated this, drawing in a slow deep breath that -c-
Raelous fully expanded his chest and made his flat belly expand slightly as the diaphragm reached its lowest position. He then let the air out slowly. "You have to train your diaphragm to draw down more fully...strengthen it like any other muscle...it comes with practice." He said with a reassurring smile.
